Manufacturing Support Equipment


Various equipment handling adapters. Customer: Lockeed Martin. Assemblies are composed of steel and aluminum parts which are bent, machined, welded and assembled with a variety of hardware. Quantities are 1-10 of each.

Missile upender. Customer: United Technologies. Assembly is a 4 ft. diameter clam shell, hydraulically acuated, with an internal bladder to grab the missile 2nd stage and rotate it 90 degrees to the vertical position. One unit built.

Nuclear fuel rod exchanger. Customer: General Electric. Transfer mechanism to load fuel rods into nuclear reactors. One unit built.

Deformation tool. Customer: Alliant Techsystems. This tool is used to disable missiles by hydraulically deforming the seal ring.

End Product Assemblies:


Aeroheat Shields. Customer: United Technologies. 8" diameter assembly for manned space flight composed of 304 and 321 stainless steel machinings and sheet metal parts welded together with extensive precision machining. Built one lot of 245 units.

Ring assemblies for a linear lithium pump. Customer: General Electric. Machined 304 stainless steel rings assembled to machined low carbon steel laminants bound with inconel. 80 very similar assemblies were made.

Vacuum chamber. Customer: Sandia National Lab. Stainess steel, welded vacuum chamber. One built.

ASTOVL AV-8B wind-tunnel model. Customer: Boeing/McDonnell Douglas 1/10th scale model aircraft made from 321 stainless steel with plumbing and instrumentation for testing.

Motor housings for the international space station. Customer:Lockeed Martin. Assemblies are roughly 18" x 10" x 5" comprised of several precision aluminum casings plus titanium and stainless steel shaft bearing housings with very tight true position tolerances. 4 units built.


Machined Parts


Keels for upper end (America's Cup) racing yachts, up to 12 feet long, made from special steels with contoured surfaces. Several made. Customers: Annonymous

Avionics shelves for the Apache Longbow helicopter. Customer: Boeing/McDonnell Douglas and Fokker. Several high speed machined, thin walled aluminum parts ranging in size up to 60" long. We built prototypes and production parts up to 75/yr with monthly shipments.

Transition chambers. Customer: Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) Several three to five axis copper machinings with complex surfaces. Up to 10 of a part.

Aluminum and titanium structural parts for aircraft and spacecraft. Customer: Lockeed Martin. Parts for X-33, F-22 and JSF. Many parts built.

Techroll seals. Customer: United Technologies.Very tight toleranced titanium parts for a rocket motor. 10 units built.

Dipoles. Customer: Lawrence Livermore National Lab Machined copper extrusions 10-20 ft long with a variety of complex machined features. About 10 units built.
